We propose a unique day to discover one of the most enchanting places in Sardinia: the Tavolara Marine Protected Area, a breathtaking scenery rich in charming coves, where the lush and imposing Mediterranean scrub reaches the sea. You will be amazed to see the contrast between Tavolara, the “dragon island,” with its vertical limestone formations, and the smaller islands, Molara and Molarotto.
The archipelago hosts incredible fauna, from the golden eagle nesting on the main island’s summit to peregrine falcons, herons, royal seagulls, and underwater, the biodiversity and colors of the seabeds will astonish you. Don’t forget your mask and fins!
The flora will enchant you even more: of the over 500 known species, some thrive only on the island of Tavolara, making them among the rarest plants in the world.
We depart at 09:00/09:30 from Porto San Paolo, right in front of the archipelago, to reach the stunning Piscine di Molara for a swim in the crystal-clear waters of one of the smaller islets.
After about 2 hours, we reach the main island: Tavolara, the dragon island that rises from the sea. Here, we’ll have the whole day exploring the beautiful beaches of Spalmatore and Cala Tramontana and the naturalistic itineraries discovering the wildest fauna and flora.
You can decide on the return whenever you want, every hour from 15:30 onwards until 18:30.
