CARNIVAL IN ORISTANO "SA SARTIGLIA"

Saturday: Arrival in Olbia, meeting with the Guide and departure to Oristano. Stop in Nuoro to see the Museum of Costumes and Popular Sardinian traditions, that keep a rich documentation about uses and life in Sardinia during the old times. Lunch in Orgosolo with the Shepard with typical menu. In the evening arrival in Oristano, accommodation in the hotel in the reserved rooms and visit of the city. Dinner and sleepover in the Hotel.
Sunday: Full board plan in the Hotel . Full day dedicated to the "Sartiglia", the most characteristic carnival event of Sardinia. It consist in an ability tournament in witch the horse riders "Componidores" dressed with traditional costumes and with the face covered by a white mask, must insert the sword inside an hole made in a metal star suspended in the center of the street riding a galloping horse.
Monday: breakfast and lunch in the hotel. Visit of the Sinis Peninsula, the ruins of the old city of Tharros, the Paleo-Christian church of S. Giovanni of Sinis and the "ipogeo" ( underground sanctuary) of San Salvatore . In the afternoon departure for Olbia and end of the Tour.

THE" CAVALCATA SARDA" ( "Historic Horse riding Event")

Saturday: Arrival in Olbia, meeting with your Guide and departure for NUORO. Visit to the Customs Museum and the "Grazia Deledda" , Nobel Literature Prize winner, Historic House. The trip continue to Orgosolo and lunch in the "Supramonte Mountains" with the shepards. In the afternoon visit to the Famous " Murales" ( "walls folk graffiti" ) and the trip will continue to Cannigione. At the evening arrival in the Hotel, taking occupancy of the reserved rooms, dinner and sleepover .
Sunday: Breakfast and departure for Sassari to watch the " Cavalcata Sarda" , considered one of the most famous historic . It consist in a huge display and parade of different old customs coming from all the island's towns, singing, traditional dancing, horse riding shows and parades by the best horse riders of the island . Lunch in a restaurant . At the evening back in the hotel for dinner and sleepover.
Monday: Breakfast and lunch at the Hotel . Visit of Santa Teresa di Gallura and the Rocks of Capo Testa Visit di S. Teresa e Capotesta , northernmost point of the island , in front of Corsica. In the afternoon, departure for the Costa Smeralda and walking visit of Porto Cervo. In the evening the Tour will end in Olbia

May 1°: Breakfast and departure to Cagliari to assist to the S.Efisio Parade , a typical religious event, with old original costumes and horse riders, in honor of the Saint, Folkloristic shows with traditional Sardinian music. Lunch in the restaurant. At the evening back to the hotel , dinner and sleepover.
May 2nd: Breakfast and departure to Torralba and visit to the "Nuragic King palace of S. Antine" a huge nuragic complex that is possible to visit in the inside. The trip will continue to Alghero with the visit of the Catalan city and lunch in the restaurant. In the afternoon the visit of the city will continue and in the evening the tour will depart to Olbia for the Ferry boarding. End of the Tour.
